Squid Proxy backward compatibility — no more

by mnemonique on October 11, 2007

Hi and thanks for the visit. If you're new here you may want to subscribe to my feed.

While updating my a few months old, err, more than a year old Proxy Server (using SQUID), I come to notice that my old configuration with transparent proxy support is no longer acceptable with the new version of Squid, talk about remotely administering my home proxy server from the office, was pretty bored at the office a while back :D .

The following four lines have been replaced…
httpd_accel_host virtual
httpd_accel_port 80
httpd_accel_with_proxy on
httpd_accel_uses_host_header on

with this one liner

# 10.10.1.1 = proxy server LAN IP
# 8080 = port used
http_port 10.10.1.1:8080 transparent

kewl?
